five nature reserves in nyingchi

To improve the protection of the rare plateau forest landscapes and unique natural scenery, and to save, protect and develop the valuable and rare wild life resources, since 1982, following elaborate investigations and planning, five nature reserves have been set up in Nyingchi by the government of the Tibetan Administrative Region. The total area is 201,200 hectares.
