Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Foundation is a non-profit organization for the study anda protection of the giant panda.Since 1987, the Foundation has been working hard on giant panda ex-situ breeding,scientific research,and domestic and inernational cooperation.It has financially supported Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding,Chengdu Zoo anda collaborative universities and institutions to carry on 87 applied and basic projects. Twenty-four of these projects have won national, provincial or departmental and municipal rewards in technical renovation and/or technical improvements. Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding,aided by the Foundation,has developed into a giant panda conservation and research centtre. To date,50 litters yielding 77 cubs have been born, of which 49 survive .

     Also more than 80% of giant pandas left in the world are living in and around Sichuan. the lovely panda living on arrow bamboo is now attracting more and more visitors with its uique postures and also wins the province the reputation of the Hometown of Giant Pandas

    the Panda Bace efforts and high level of success have developed our facility into the model for research and conservation on endangered wildlife. We therefore have been rewarded with:
1) the "Global 500" by the U.N. Environment Programme (UNEP)
2) the "Golden Medal of Chinese Green Science and Technology" 
3) the "China Environment Nomination Prize", first granted in China
4) the "National Public Education Base"
